Lawyers can’t have a conflict of interest, so if you work with a decent sized firm they will do a “conflict check” before telling you that they can take on your job. Thus large companies will spread their work around to many firms. This makes it difficult for you to find a good firm that doesn’t have a conflict. This is a totally ridiculous practice considering the effort it must take on the part of the large company to work with so many firms.
There’s nothing you can do about it, but if you are a small business owner you should at least know about it.
