DTC Winter - First Job is To Survive

The direct to commerce industry has been dealt a heavy blow with Apple’s attack on ad supported businesses such as Facebook. Couple that with a recession, inflation, and an expected slowdown from the boom times created due to the covid-19 policies and it’s a recipe for tough times.

There will be a lot of companies go out of business either because they aren’t solvent or because the juice is no longer worth the squeeze for the founders. For the rest of us the first job is to survive. I’m not saying don’t play offense, but it’s certainly harder than it used to be. So be smart and stay in business. Good times will be back.
